Important Notice

Salvage BBQ will be going on hiatus from January 1st, 2024, through March of 2024. While the first three full winter months of every year have always been relatively slow in the local restaurant industry, over the last couple of years, the impact of inflation to the cost of goods, the labor shortage and subsequent wage increases, and the ongoing construction at Maine Medical Center have made the post-holiday season particularly challenging at Salvage BBQ. We look forward to welcoming our loyal and valued customers back to 919 Congress Street at the beginning of April 2024, potentially with new menu items and a revamped service model. We thank our employees for their hard work and commitment to Salvage BBQ: we will be working with our staff to facilitate their transition to other jobs, and if necessary, applying for unemployment insurance and continuing their medical, dental, and retirement benefits. Please keep and eye and an ear out for news about our re-opening, and we wish everyone a healthy and happy late winter/early spring!

We have installed two new REME Halo air sanitizing system at the BBQ, which will help eliminate microbial contaminants, including the virus that causes COVID-19, in all air that passes through the duct. This system is frequently used in hospitals, nursing homes and day cares. What does this mean? Salvage has some of the cleanest air in town. Learn more about the systems here.
