As many of you know, Portland just passed a new minimum wage bill that includes additional hazard pay on top of the minimum wage increase. We take no issue with providing our employees a living wage, and we certainly care about our employees and appreciate the sacrifices and risks they are undertaking such that we can survive this pandemic. Sadly, with our stresses and costs at an all time high, and our sales at an all time low, we simply cannot afford to shoulder this additional fiscal burden on our own. For the duration of the hazard pay period, we will be forced to add a 5% fee to cover this extra cost. We are sorry to have to do so, but we have no wiggle room in our existing margins, and simply cannot afford to cover the costs at present. We intend remove the 5% hazard pay fee as soon as the state of emergency is lifted. With all this in mind, we are thankful for your continued support through these cuckoo times. We couldn’t do it without you.
